INTRODUCING THE HIGH SPEED PLOUGH DIVERTER |
|
Glidepath is pleased to announce the introduction of an exciting new product to their range - the new high speed single arm Plough Diverter. The Plough consists of a motor activated plough arm, with a driven belt face. The Plough arm is designed to actuate into the extended position before a bag arrives to provide a gentle driven divert action. The Plough works effectively with either a Parallel, 90° or 45° takeaway conveyor or rollerbed. The Plough Diverter is available in left and right hand configurations.
FEATURES
- Simple, durable and efficient
- Cost effective automatic sortation
- Very low maintenance
- Variable speed
- Capable of sorting up to 60 bags per minute
- Parallel 90° and 45° bag takeaway options
- Ease of maintenance (5 minute arm belt change cycle)

LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Innovation and progressive behaviour = sustainability |
I attended the ACI Asia Pacific Regional Assembly Conference and Exhibition in New Delhi in April. The theme was “Aviation Business Strategies – Meeting of Minds”. But what caught my attention the most was the progress that India has made recently with its infrastructure development. For example, Delhi International T3 constructed by the private entity GMR and redevelopment of Mumbai Airport by the consortium GVK. These developments are clearly world class and signal the bold vision that India has for its infrastructure. |
India’s infrastructure development is truly impressive. Airports, seaports, roads and other infrastructure have been redeveloped at a brisk pace. One statistic worthy of noting is that India has a target of constructing 20 kilometres of highway per day – a truly awesome target.
With the conference theme firmly in mind, the delegates found themselves frequently discussing issues of service standards and ways in which airports could work better with and deliver greater value to their customers.
I guess that what the delegates were saying is that all business needs to be conducted from a sustainable platform and this could mean anything for many of us from sustaining our customer base to the sustainability of development, intent and action. Nowadays the hallmark of sustainability may be expressed in the same terms as “progressive” and “innovative” in respect to our behaviour and execution – for those of us who have taken the time to think about these issues, this equals sustainability.
With 6.7 billion of us living on this planet, the bouquets in the future will surely go to those companies and individuals who demonstrate sound responsible behaviour in our business planning and execution. Hopefully, our customers will jump on the bus and will be rewarded as well.
Sir Ken Stevens, Founder Chairman – Glidepath

NEW BHS FOR CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND
|
 |
|
Christchurch International Airport Limited opened their new passenger terminal to the public on Thursday 28th April. Glidepath were pleased to be the suppliers of the baggage handling system for this project which has been several years in development.
The new baggage handling system features 48 standard check-in locations for common use between airlines and International and Domestic flights. In conjunction with Air New Zealand, a self service fully automated bag drop has been provided for domestic and trans-Tasman services. |
The check-in systems feed into a fully automated sortation and screening system ensuring that baggage is rapidly and securely processed and delivered to their respective destinations.
Glidepath has also set up a local Operations & Maintenance team comprised of locally employed staff. Their roles are to closely monitor the system to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the new baggage handling system.
Following the demolition and refitting of some of the existing parts of the terminal, further minor phases of the work will be completed through until mid 2012 including a Domestic Transfer line, Additional baggage make up carousel, and Arrivals carousels.

GLIDEPATH USA's NEW INTEGRAL RACEWAY
|
Glidepath has developed a new variation on the standard conveyor sideguard or upstand with the addition of an integral wiring raceway. The integral raceway, an enclosed wiring chase, is built into the upper edge of the sideguard and provides space for both high and low voltage wiring cables.
The integral raceway, an enclosed wiring chase, is built into the upper edge of the sideguard and provides space for both high and low voltage wiring cables.
The raceway has a snap-on cover and the upper edge provides a convenient place for mounting junction boxes, operator control stations, or other control devices anywhere along the length of the conveyor. |
|
|
The integral raceway has a full length divider providing isolation for high and low voltage wiring.
This innovative design saves significant installation time and materials; every 10’ of conveyor installed includes 20’ of integral raceway. The design meets all Underwriters Laboratory (UL) requirements |
