Glidepath Recognised for its Commitment to the Environment

Posted by Stephen Ross on

At Glidepath, we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment, from reducing the carbon footprint and energy use of our products, to giving a “green and healthy” consideration to every aspect of our business. So, we were delighted this week to receive a 2018 Clear Skies Award Honourable Mention from the Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR).

Each year, the Vancouver Airport Authority recognizes Sea Island businesses (Sea Island is the location of Vancouver International Airport) for their outstanding commitment, enthusiasm, and innovation in improving the environment on and about Sea Island.

“We were impressed by Glidepath Systems Limited’s VFD motor initiative in the outbound transborder baggage handling system. The resulting energy-efficiency gains of 52-58% are impressive, not to mention the lighter weight components and the reduced wear and tear on parts - leading to less waste. We are also pleased to see that most of the Glidepath Systems staff have made an effort to green their commute by cycling, walking, and taking transit to Sea Island.

“The Vancouver Airport Authority looks forward to continuing to work with Glidepath Systems Limited on reducing our collective impact on the environment.”

Marion Town

Congratulations to Jason Williams and all the Glidepath team based at YVR (Canada’s second busiest airport!).

Good work, well done!
